Ewes to 1000 heads average live weight is 60 kg. 35000 tenges 1 head.
During the winter period of ewe often appear in extreme conditions. It is expressed, first, by stay on snow, and secondly, forced consumption of cold water. Both the first, and the second leads to decrease in quantity of daily water consumption. Sheep prefer and will consume more warm, than cold water.
The water consumption increases on the third month of pregnancy and doubles on the fifth month. Moreover, at the ewes bearing twin, the water consumption is even higher. Calculations show that ewes during the milking period consume 100% more water, than dead standing. If you faced problem of insufficient amount of milk, do not lose sight that sheep, perhaps, do not receive enough water because it is (water) cold.
The voluntary water consumption at ewes is about two-three times higher than amount of the consumed dry matter in sterns. At the same time the water consumption increases at sterns with the high content of protein and salt. There is direct dependence between consumption of dry matter and amount of the consumed water. Animals who had no access to water more than 24 hours refuse food, or eat very little. The lack of water at animal before okoty leads to different problems: hudosochnost, insufficiency of food, patrimonial diseases in case of incubation of two and more eanlings.
Ewes in gestation period consume about 4 - 6 liters of water a day and about 8-10 liters during the milking period. Ewes on winter pastures consume about 3 liters in case of lack of snow cover. At the end of winter, in process of temperature increase of surrounding air and approach to okot, daily consumption grows and reaches 6 - 7 liters a day. In case of consumption of forages with the high content of dry matter the daily water consumption can reach 9 liters.
Consumption of salt in winter time is not less important. It is necessary to remember that in case when animals are forced to use cold water, they independently regulate amount of the consumed salt. In it there is nothing terrible when salt is available. Nevertheless, we often forget to check availability of salt in feeding troughs and for pasture. This omission can become premises of big problems. After the long period without salt and after its unexpected introduction there is danger of excess consumption. These animals, together with low water consumption, can get poisoned. Therefore it is always necessary to remember not only control over water consumption, but also over level of consumption of salt.
