Types of promotion actions

Sales promotion (sales promotion) — a complex of commercial and marketing actions in the different social groups directed to increase in sales volumes (stimulation of consumer demand, service improvement of quality, acceleration of process of merchandising and sale of goods, recognition of the trademark or packaging). Are oriented both to the consumer (consumer promotion), and to the seller (trade promotion).

Consumer promotion — actions for stimulation of the consumer by means of which problems of motivation to commission of trial or repeated purchase, increase in frequency of consumption of product/service are solved.

Merchandising — the complex of the events held in a trading floor, including consultations, tastings, demonstrations, gifts, an exchange of goods of the competitor for the advertized goods, etc.

Sampling — distribution of samples by their offer to consumers as a gift. Samples can be dispatched by mail, be carried "at each door", be distributed in shop, etc. Distribution of samples is considered the most effective and expensive way of representation of new goods.

Game marketing — carrying out lotteries, competitions, quizes for consumers and draws of prizes.

Visual communications — a complex of the indexes (signs, plates, billboards, information stands, etc.) helping to be guided with space and providing users with necessary information (an arrangement of objects and their parts, placement on objects of specific employees, time of their work, etc.).

Trade promotion — the package of measures directed to stimulation of a sales network for development of distribution, acceleration of a turn and increase in sales volume (including a merchandising):
